About Costume Machine

What this blog is

My name is Pavlo R. I created Costume Machine because I enjoy describing a slot to people who've never played one. You start from the initial click: what the buttons do, what the symbols mean, and what actually happens when the reels stop. Named out loud, rule by rule, a game stops looking like magic and begins to look like a set of plain mechanics.

What it covers

The emphasis is on the mechanics of casino games instead of where to find them. This involves the rules, the features and the numbers involved: ways-to-win and paylines, wilds and scatters, free spins, hold-and-win rounds, volatility, return-to-player figures, and the underlying maths. Slots mostly, but table games get a look-in too.

Who it's for

People who are curious about the inner workings. You don't need any background, and I don't claim to possess any particular qualifications. I just read closely and write it down clearly.

How the articles are made

Each piece is researched from the rule documents and game sheets from providers, then the data is verified with other dependable sources. I mention it when something is unclear.

Costume Machine is independent. It doesn't accept payments from casinos and doesn't link to any. That's the whole arrangement.
